Coffee Mix

Coffee Mix

The coffee’s hot as I drain the cup

Slowly punching every part of my body

The sugarless mixture numbing my tongue

Pinching and drowning my emotions.

I hit rock bottom, fast and hard

Left half dead not just once but twice

Chilled like a frozen piece of meat

Waiting to be thawed under the sun.

The coffee’s hot as I drain the cup

With bitter taste throbbing my mouth

Crunching it all together like a sand

As it leaves my teeth black marks.

Machines crushing every bone in my body

Grabbing my soul ‘till out of breath

Scrubbing the only existence left

Washed out ghost in the midst of the night.

Only the strong survives

A black cup with no sugar in it

Sweet temptations are just desserts

A piece of my life revealed

The coffee’s cold as you grab the cup

Shred it nicely while you sip

The mixture is deadly for you to drink

A cake to sweeten the poison in it.

Heartaches are the measuring cups

Of the coffee that was never mixed

Crystals of sugar sitting at the bottom

Unstirred and untouched by the spoon.

The coffee’s served hot and cold

Blended into imperfections

No mouth or tongue can bring back life

No spoon or stick to sum it up.

Coffees are my spice in life

Lingering emotions are magically trapped

No words to write nor words to say

For the mixture is my only key.
